Dear Yale Alumni and Friends,
Have you ever wanted to help change the life of a child and make the dream of going to college a reality? In July 2014 the Yale Alumni Service Corps will partner with College Summit to work with students in West Virginia to provide mentoring for low-income high-achieving high school students as we assist them in preparing to attend institutions of higher education. Working on the campus of West Virginia State University, we will provide both college counseling and mentoring in writing college essays along with activities that will benefit these students during their remaining high school years and on into the future.
All materials for this service program are supplied by College Summit and your participation! You supply the experience, talent and enthusiasm to inspire these young people toward individual growth and hope for the future. We will work diligently during this rewarding program but in addition we will learn about a part of the country that is beautiful but often unknown to those from outside. We will also meet many compassionate and caring people. The price for this unique experience will be only $500 per person excluding travel costs to and from Charleston.
Please join us for this life changing program in our own back yard as a part of the Yale Alumni Service Corps tradition of giving back to our global community - there are only 40 spaces available so sign up now!!
We look forward to seeing you in West Virginia!
