Yale Alumni Service Corps
Domestic Service Trip: Amherst, New York
June 24th – June 28th, 2015
Dear Yale Alumni and Friends,
Thank you for choosing to help change the life of a child and make the dream of going to college a reality! In June 2015 you and 16 other Yale Alumni Service Corps volunteers will partner with College Summit to work with students in Western New York state to provide mentoring for low-income high-achieving high school students as we assist them in preparing to attend institutions of higher education. Working on the campus of Daemen College, we will provide both college counseling and mentoring in writing college essays along with activities that will benefit these students during their remaining high school years and on into the future.
All materials for this service program are supplied by College Summit and your participation! You supply the experience, talent and enthusiasm to inspire these young people toward individual growth and hope for the future. We will work diligently during this rewarding program but in addition we will learn about a part of the country that is beautiful but often unknown to those from outside. We will also meet many compassionate and caring people. The price for this unique experience, only $500 per person excluding travel costs to and from Buffalo, is a small one to pay for such a unique opportunity.
Thank you for joining us for this life changing program in our own back yard as a part of the Yale Alumni Service Corps tradition of giving back to our global community!!
We look forward to seeing you in New York!
